One of the most common infections is nail fungus, bothering numerous people all over the world. This infection is caused by the penetration of microorganisms inside the nails. These microorganisms survive and thrive in warm and humid environments mostly. Nail fungus can cause the nails to get harder and discolored; but is not just annoying or unaesthetic, but it’s also quite painful. Therefore, people try all kinds of different remedies, although the tea tree oil nail fungus remedy seems to be the most popular one.

It is derived from a tree called Melaleuca alternifolia, which is mostly found in Australia. You can find it though in pharmacies and homeopathic product stores in small bottles. It contains several natural chemicals with medicinal properties and abilities, known as terpenoids. It is also rich in cineole that features effective antibacterial and antifungal abilities, therefore can kill fungi that might be resistant to antibiotics or other oral treatments.

Tea tree oil is a natural remedy, both cheap and effective. It is a treatment that can be easily absorbed by the skin and the nail layers to kill the unwanted fungi. It is a very efficient and potent antiseptic and can easily penetrate skin. The only thing you need to do is to apply it undiluted to the affected nails and rub them mildly for a few seconds.

However natural and effective this remedy is, not everyone can use it. Pregnant women or breast feeding mothers are not allowed to use it, as it might cause some skin and stomach irritation. If you try the tea tree oil nail fungus remedy and you notice any allergic reaction, you should stop the treatment as soon as possible. If you don’t have any problem with it, you should get rid of the fungi within a few days. Tea tree oil is used to treat Athlete’s foot as well.

Sandalwood is the fragrant wood of trees in the genus Santalum. The tree is medium sized 12-15 meters tall. The trees are felled or dug up by roots; the branches are worthless, so are cut off. It is usual to leave the trunk on the ground for several months for the white ants to eat away the sapwood, which is also of no value.

The core of dark heartwood gradually develops, which is covered by outer sapwood. The sandalwood tree is never felled, but uprooted in the rainy season, when the roots are richer in the precious essential oil. The best quality oil comes from the Indian province of Mysore and Tamil Nadu. Ayurvedic healers either used powdered Sandalwood or the burning of Sandalwood in their ancient practice. Sandalwood, along with agarwood, is the most popular and commonly used incense material by the Chinese and Japanese in worship and various ceremonies.
The wood is used for making fancy articles and is much carved. Essential oils and attars may have also been used in Indian medicine. It is used in aromatherapy and sandalwood oil is also used to prepare soaps. Sandalwood essential oil provides perfumes with a striking wood base note. Sandalwood is considered in alternative medicine to bring one closer with the divine. Sandalwood essential oil, which is very expensive in its pure form, is used primarily for Ayurvedic purposes, and treating anxiety. Tea tree oil or melaleuca oil is a clear to very pale golden color essential oil with a fresh camphoraceous odour. Tea tree oil , only a small number of randomized. Use of topical tea tree oil for fungal infections (including onychomycosis and tin penis), acne, and vaginal infections. Tea tree gel may be useful as a treatment on the skin for genital herpes. Tea tree oil is not recommended for use in the ears.
Tea tree oil contains constituents called terpenoids, which have been found to have antiseptic and antifungal activity. Tea tree oil is used in medically used cosmetic products also. Tea tree oil is also effective for treating insect bites, boils and minor wounds. It has also been known to help soothe sunburns, poison ivy, ear infections, and bee stings. When used topically, tea tree oil is reported to be mildly irritating, and has been associated with the development of allergic contact dermatitis, which may limit its potential as a topical agent for some patients. Tea tree oil is not just soothing and disinfecting. It is also effective against head colds. Tea tree oil is most commonly found as a pure essential oil. It is also an ingredient in creams, ointments, lotions, soaps, and shampoos. Tea tree oil should not be taken internally, even in small quantities. Don’t use tea tree oil if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Tea tree oil acne and boils treatment is becomming more and more common and worth exploring.

A boil is an inflamed area, usually based in a hair follicle, and can be caused by a physical condition such as acne, or severe dermatitis and can also result from low immunity, irritations, an illness, stress, food allergy, poor diet, shaving, plucking hairs or poor hygiene. A boil usually starts as a tender area, becoming hard and swelling, and eventually softening and forming a head. The head is filled with bacteria and the white blood cells fighting the infection (pus). Staphylococcus is the bacteria that is usually found in the pus of a boil.

The bacteria involved are those usually present on healthy skin, so the boil is an indication of low resistance to infection. It is advised not to lance the boil, because bacteria can spread to nearby skin and create new boils. Apply hot packs for up to 20 minutes at a time, throughout the day, as the heat draws more white blood cells, thereby helping to fight the infection. Do not cover with a bandaid. Wash with tea tree oil soap and apply antiseptic cream containing tea tree oil. A drop or two of tea tree oil may also be applied directly to the boil. Dab it on with a piece of clean cotton, do not rub or otherwise irritate the boil.

Procedure to be followed periodically throughout the day:

Dab some tea tree oil onto the boil with a piece of cotton to help bring it to a head, then cover with a piece of gauze. Cover the gauze with a damp washcloth, followed by a dry towel and then apply a heating pad. Leave on a low temperature for about 15 minutes. Change your dressing and reapply the tea tree oil. The oil helps bring the boil to a head while the warm compress helps pull the infection out of the skin; the tea tree oil then acts as an antiseptic and antibiotic on the bacteria in the pus. Be sure to throw away the gauze each time, and wash your hands with tea tree oil soap each time you handle the gauze or touch the boil.

Sometimes a boil’s bacteria can spread to a lymph node that is nearby. If there is a boil on the neck, check the lymph glands for swelling and tenderness. You should visit a doctor if this occurs, also if there is fever or lethargy. It’s important to learn to listen to your body and recognize when tea tree oil acne and boils treatment will be enough, and when you need the help of a doctor.

All essential oils should be used safely in order to treat various conditions and promote inner peace and relaxation. However, all essential oils are not safe. In fact, some of them can negatively interact with prescription and over-the-counter medications. They can either dull or increase their power. This is why it is imperative to perform your due diligence, which may include speaking with a trained aromotherapist, before you begin using essential oils. The essential oils that are generally considered as safe are lavender and tea tree oil.

Lavender essential oil is created by extracting the oil from the lavender plant. It is used for both medicinal and enjoyment purposes. Studies have shown that lavender oil is effective in treating alopecia, stress, insomnia and even acts as an anti-bacterial agent. It can effectively be used with massage and acupuncture. Lavender is believed to be able to improve sleep, help individuals relax and lighten one’s mood by slowing down the nervous system. In Germany, lavender tea is given to people who suffer from the inability to sleep. Lavender oil is also believed to be able to help individuals that suffer from headaches, acne, fungal infections and eczema.

Tea tree oil is the other essential oil that is safe to use. You are likely to find lot of products that are infused with tea tree oil at your local beauty supply store or even Wal-mart.

There are some precautions that should be taken. Some studies have found that tea tree oil may affect hormones and may cause the breast tissue in boys to enlarge. Consequently, you may not want to allow your teen son to use it. Tea tree oil is generally safe for external use, but should never be taken internally.

However, tea tree oil does have some very good uses. It can be used to help in the healing of burns, cuts and skin infections. Other common uses include the treatment of acne, dandruff, eczema, boils, psoriasis, thrush, dandruff and athletes foot.

Tea tree oil and lavender oil are two of the most safe essential oils available. They are generally considered safe by the traditional and alternative health communities. If you have any questions about any intended uses for either of these essential oils, it is recommended that you speak with an aromatherapist who can provide you with the proper guidance.

Tea tree oil has been used by Australian aborigines for hundreds of years. It is no wonder that people are now turning to it in an effort to help prevent and get rid of stretch marks.

It has many medicinal uses: antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antibiotic just to name a few. As well as treating common household ailments tea tree oil helps skin conditions including stretch marks.

It comes from a large variety of tea tree plants including the Australian tea tree, the lemon scented tea tree and the New Zealand tea tree.

Regular use of tea tree oil helps to prevent stretch marks. Australian tea tree oil in particular is highly recommended for stretch marks as is New Zealand tea tree oil or Manuka honey cream. It is one of the few aromatherapy oils that can be massaged directly onto the skin without dilution.

Stretch marks occur anywhere and everywhere on the body. They occur in young teenagers, in women and also in men. In fact, body building stretch marks in particular are extremely common.

They are the result of what we will can expansion and contraction – demands made on it to adapt, adjust and unfortunately in many instances, to stretch!

Most of us, at some point in our lives will have to deal with stretch marks on our bodies. As we age and our weight fluctuates throughout life, our skin and appearance changes and shifts and our skin becomes the focus of numerous uncomfortable stares and self-conscious glances in the mirror.

Here are just some of the most common responses and action plans people implement to deal with them:

Embarrassment, hiding and concealing, covering, denying, ignoring, wishing away, slapping on topical treatments, invasive, costly, repetitious treatments and interventions to get rid of them!

Here are some of the more generally accepted hormonal or endocrine stretch mark causes, or more accurately stated, contributing factors:

Negative emotion, depression or extreme unhappiness (emotions are neuro-peptides and affect the processes and organs in your body); developmental factors and stages, growth and puberty for adolescents and budding young adults, (both boys and girls); vitamins and nutrient deficiencies in the body; pregnancy; rapid weight gain/loss; sudden change in physical or environmental conditions; medications and steroid use; insufficient skin properties, building blocks and elements, like collagen and elastin (the main ingredients and connective tissue of your skin).

If you are looking for stretch mark tips, techniques and products for saving you money plus urgent help to get rid of them, making them less unsightly, it is possible to optimize your natural processes and defences with 100% natural products like tea tree oil and other alternative stretch mark therapies and approaches to help get rid of them and prevent stretch marks appearing in the first place. For example, Vitamin E is a great home remedy for stretch marks.

In this day and age there are many good, solid choices that you can make that can help you cope and make them less visible in appearance.

Tea tree oil and Vitamin E are just an example how changing some very small habits can have a MAJOR impact on your life, health and ultimately your skin!

While laser treatments and chemical peels are prominent it is possible to use natural alternatives to expensive stretch mark treatments to fight in order to minimize and lessen the appearance of stretch marks and their impact on your day to day life.

Stretch mark prevention and corrective action can now be taken using 100% natural products and not necessarily invasive and costly, extreme procedures.

So the next time you look in the mirror and start to feel embarrassed about your stretch marks remember that Mother Nature has, in fact, handed you many home remedies for stretch marks and natural stretch mark treatments to help prevent and get rid of them.

If you have ever suffered from or are suffering from toenail fungus, you are going to be looking for a cure that works fast! Well Tea Tree oil toenail fungus remedies work fast! And you won’t be disappointed. People are turning a great deal towards the use of natural remedies today, they are better for your health and certainly don’t cost as much as a visitor to the doctors for an ailment as slight but unsightly as toenail fungus.

Tea tree oil is a very potent natural antibiotic, anti-fungal and antiseptic. It is actually one of the miracles of nature! Using this product is not just another gimmick designed to part you from your hard earned money, there has been and is still ongoing research into the cure potential of this natural product. Tea tree does what it says and deserves a long, hard look for the treatment of toenail or any other fungal treatment.

This natural remedy is not derived from tea, it is a derivative from the “Tea Tree” which grows indigenously in Australia. The Latin name is “Melaleuca Alternafolia. There are a vast number of naturally occurring substances in the Tea Tree, the most important of which is “terpinen-4-ol”.

Tea tree oil is extracted from the stem and leave of the tree through a steam extraction process and the oil which results from the extraction process is sold as a pure essential oil or blended with other essential oils or plant extracts. The most important thing to remember when using this product on your nail or other fungal problems is that the product is backed by solid scientific research.

The medicinal properties of Tea Tree oil has been and still is being conducted in ongoing medical research. The property’s of terpinen-4-ol has already proven to be an effective anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-viral. The most important aspect of using this product for fungal nail infections is that it appears to be able to penetrate the thick layers of nails. In the past other topical treatments for this condition have failed due to their inability to penetrate these nail layers.

Tea tree oil is an essential oil known for its medicinal properties. Native to the New South Wales, Australia steam distillation of the leaves of the tree Melaleuca alternifolia helps obtain tea tree oil. Among the 100 compounds contained in the oil terpinen-4-ol mainly accounts for most of the antimicrobial actions.

Tea tree oil is a clear to very yellow or green-tinged essential oil with a fresh camphoraceous odor. These leaves were earlier used as a substitute for tea, which is how the oil got its name.

One should not confuse Tea tree oil and Tea Oil (the seasoning and cooking oil obtained from pressed seeds of the plant Camellia oleifera).

Tea Tree oil was used in Australia as a potent antiseptic much before any scientific research. Tea Tree crushed leaves were used as traditional medicine by inhaling the oils treating cold and cough and also sprinkling them on wounds.

It was only after 1920’s use of oil itself become popular. A series of research papers evaluating antimicrobial properties published by Arthur Penfold led to the popularity. The oil was extracted using mobile, makeshift, wood-fired bush still and plant material was hand cut on the spot. The demand was very high till World War II and ebbed after the war mainly due to development of effective antibiotics and interest in natural products. However, the interest in natural essential oils was rekindled in 1970s and 1980s and its demand has surged for uses in medicinal and cosmetic uses. Further studies in the recent time support the use of tea tree oil in skin care and various aliments.

Here are glimpses of the uses of this wondrous oil:

Tea Tree Oil Acne: A study done in Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Department of Dermatology proved Tea Tree oil as very effective in treatment of moderate acne.

Inhaled tea tree oil helps breathing easier by “breaking up congestion”. It can also minimize the symptoms of flu, cold, sore throat and systemic fungal infection.

Dandruff: Tea tree shampoo helped significantly reduce dandruff symptoms after 4 weeks of use. This was reveled in a study done on 126 people with mild to moderate dandruff. This is due to its ability to treat Malassezia furfur, the general common cause of the dandruff.

Athlete’s Foot: A study to cure athlete’s foot was done and 50% tea tree oil solution and placebo was used. After two daily applications for 4 weeks, tea tree oil was found to be significantly more effective than placebo.

Toenails and Fungal Infection: Another study found that 100% tea tree oil was as effective on toenail fungus infection as was the standard antifungal medication of 1% clotrimazole solution.

Tea tree oil is also effective against candidiasis and other vaginal infections.

It can also be used as a bath additive and also may control bacteria in spas and pools.

Tea Tree oil is also used in cosmetic products to make tea tree soap and shampoo.

It has also been used in treatments for eye aliment and blepharitis.

It is also used in toothpastes, mouth washes for curing bad breath and gum diseases.

It is also effective in treating minor wounds, insect bites soothe sunburn and ear infection.

Tea Tree oil diluted solution is also sold as to cure fungal and bacterial infection for pet fish.

These are just the few of its uses and the list surely goes on. Tea tree oil is a amazing gift from mother nature which we can put to a plethora of uses.
